THE BAPTISM OF ANA AHMETOVIĆ IN KOTOR
“I thank my God always on your behalf, for the grace of God which is given you by Jesus Christ.” (1 Cor 1:4).
On November 11, 2025, in the Year of our Lord, in the Church of Saint Peter of Cetinje the Wonderworker in the Old Town of Kotor, Vildana Ahmetović from Podgorica was baptized, based on her long-standing desire to join the Church of Christ. At baptism, she received the baptismal name Ana, after Saint Anna, the mother of the Most Holy Theotokos.
The holy mysteries of baptism and chrismation were performed by priest Stevo Mašanović, with the concelebration of protodeacon Nebojša Aleksić.
The godmother at the baptism was Ljiljana Dubljević from Podgorica.
Ana’s mother Jelica also attended this solemn ceremony. She visited our Church in Kotor for the first time in February of this year, and her testimony speaks of God’s grace that is present in His Church.

At that time, Jelica came to the Church of Saint Peter of Cetinje the Wonderworker in pain, on crutches, and could barely climb the stairs. After Holy Communion, prayers read for health, and veneration of the relics of God’s saints that are kept in our Church, within just a few days Jelica discarded her crutches and walked normally, and after seven days she began working. The planned surgery was no longer needed.
We rejoice in this baptism, the new spiritual kinship, and that we had the opportunity to see Jelica recovered and healthy.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit, now and ever and unto the ages of ages. Amen.
