Marta Ćetković Bakmas Traces Her Montenegrin Heritage

Marta Ćetković Bakmas, an Argentinian of Montenegrin origin, spent the past few days in Montenegro, where she also visited the seat of the Montenegrin Orthodox Archbishopric of Kotor and the Littoral in the city of Kotor. Her trip aimed to uncover more about her family roots and the land of her ancestors.

Mrs. Ćetković Bakmas is the great-granddaughter of Mijailo “Mićo” Ćetković, who was born in Montenegro in the late 19th century before emigrating to Argentina. His son, Marta’s grandfather Gojko Ćetković, was born in Argentina and married Angela Bakmas around 1908.

This was Marta Ćetković Bakmas’s first visit to Montenegro, and she leaves with fond memories. She plans to continue researching her family history in the future, alongside her sister. Today, Marta’s children and grandchildren reside in Spain.

Anyone with information about the family of Mijailo “Mićo” Ćetković is kindly asked to contact the Montenegrin Orthodox Archbishopric of Kotor and the Littoral via social media or email: .
